preciousken Old and sinister music and vocals from Cold Transmission and the Isle of Man. I have been a fan or Mark E Moon for a while but this new record is a huge step forward in shadowy transmission and feeling that rips open your skull and pours raw unhinged emotion directly to your mind. It's stomping, unforgiving and full of truth Favorite track: Event Horizon.

1.
The Eye (the picture fades) Fist over fist, hand over hand It's the season of the snake and I have seen the snake I am Fist in the mouth, hand on the heart This creeping terror reaches in and tears my world apart The eye to eye, hand over hand It's the season of the witch and yet I know not which I am Dead or alive, when we're apart But I know without a question you are buried in my heart The picture fades but it's here, in the eye of my mind Am I so blind, my sight grows dim And distant lights bring searing images From nightmares deep within I grow so cold, dimensions spin Forming interlocking pieces of the puzzle we'll begin Again some day for memories new It's these sentimental moments that are always, Oh So cruel
2.
Animals 03:51
Animals Take a walk down the dark road Through the rain and the wind and snow From the shadows they'll bring the poison Every fool and his black horizon And we move like the animals move we prance like the animals prance we do what the animals do we dance like the animals dance we take what the animals take we move like the animals move we shake like the animals shake we do what the animals do Take a walk through the downtown maze To the heart of the neon rays From the shadows they'll bring the sickness Every mark has the sting of weakness
3.
I, Robot 03:40
I, Robot I scan this lost horizon looking for some sign of life Thermosensitive cells will seek the warmth within the light Calibrate the chances of some small success within this venture Hope quickens in my head with every step but still my mentor Hates me, hates me, for what I have become I am alive here, standing in the sun Ages pass me by, faces come and go Where once there was clarity now I do not know Cold facts inform my status, syching with mathematic proof Splayed digits grasp the ground to pull the grass up by it's roots New knowledge is my mistress, analysis will awake her Despair is fleeting in the face of this but still my maker Hates me, hates me, for what I have become I am alive here, staring at the sun Ages pass me by, faces come and go Where once there was clarity now I do not know No precious truth I find but I have will Freed from my preconceptions my mind is stilled Free to escape the confines of these shackled words The science remains clear and becomes my world My God you hate me, hate me, for what I have become I am alive here, standing in the sun Ages pass me by, faces come and go Where once there was clarity now I do not know
4.
Salvation 04:56
Salvation Out there a symbol hanging in the sky A baleful eye on gilded wing As a mass they turn to gods, distraught, and cry out "Save us!" Fear stoked, the preachers. Hear them sing This is the blind leading the blind into the promise of salvation This is the end of all your hopes and prayers This is the hour, this is the time before the great awakening This is the fire, this is the darkness, this is the end This is the flame, this is the fury, here the great deluge of humanity This is the end of all their hopes and prayers This is the blind leading the blind into the waiting arms of entropy This is the fire, this is the darkness, this is the end This is the time
5.
The Failing 04:36
The Failing We wonder at the torment Love withered on the vine We seek such validation as Comes along in time We sing for secret heartache We sing this simple dirge We sing for your delusions Making noise with words Once for the failing, once for the heartsick Once for the lost who can't be found Once for the fallen, once for the damaged Once for the cursed by word of mouth Once for the broken, once for the drowning Once for the damned to find their way Out of this darkness, all of this sickness Lost to the tides and swept away And here a new beginning, begging to be born From out of owhere come the tired and the torn Sing with me. Out brief candle. Swallowed by the waves The epitaph of all our days

Old Blood 04:14
Old Blood You told me right to my face when I grew up I would be a man You told me right to my face that I'd really have to give a damn We had a long, long talk about decisions and responsibilities About standing up for what was right even if it was hurting me And now I'm grown and older and my hair is starting to grey This sea is washing over me I've got to stand up taller, I've got to take account of the waves 'Cause their lies are taking over here They're chanting "Blood & Soil!" And I can feel the burn in my soul While this sea is washing over me They still blame the Jews They think it's all fake news And this sea is washing over me You told me right to my face when I grew up what I did would amount To the substance of the man I became, that I should do what counts We had a long, long talk about asserting my unwanted privilege To help the people undermined, not toe the line And empathise with those living it And now I'm growing older and my face is starting to line This sea is washing over me I've got to stand up taller, be a part of something this time 'Cause their lies are taking over here They're chanting "Blood & Soil!" And I can feel the burn in my heart While this sea is washing over me The government break their backs Then say to blame the Blacks And this sea is washing over me They're chanting "You will not replace us!" And simply clutching pearls won't save us When the tide is coming in They've got extended mags They're flying traitors flags Is this how it begins? They see the glory days of old They want to turn this clock back They can't be moved by logic They can't be swayed by facts They think a race war's coming And that it's time to act And this sea is washing over me

Human 03:47
Human I want it all Pain and the pleasure so sweet Until I fall You bring out the sickness in me Time and again Darling I'll fall at your feet And who knows when Your heart will ever be free You bring out the human in me You bring out the human in me Watch me pleading, begging, dancing When I see what you're advancing You bring out the human in me I hear your call I feel my soul come to life I'll give it all Just for this moment in time I feel your touch, on my skin And all reason subsides Live for this rush, deep within You make this ecstacy mine
8.
Event Horizon This heart is bursting but the pain will come to pass A shiny needle, just another shard of glass The scent of old blood from this cut upon your hand This river breaks its banks and flows across the land Forever falling into the nothingness of you Alive but dead inside Forever lost upon the frozen point of view Alive but dead inside And I am sailing over the edge again Raging into the night This gravity will pull me down Into your arms The lights go out I start to drown It grows between us and it smothers our desires Inexorably, like the phoenix from the pyre Ascends on flaming wing to usher in rebirth Yet stillborn embers are the sum of all our worth
9.
Goodbye 04:50
Goodbye I never meant to say I'm sorry I only meant to say goodbye I never meant to cause this worry But you know better know and so do I So tell me, how can I explain As the darkness takes your heart away again So sorry, but how can I defend What took a lifetime to mean nothing more than friends So say goodbye, say good bye Say goodbye I never meant to say I love you I only meant to leave you here I never meant to try to kiss you Can't you see through these falling tears So tell me, how can I explain As the darkness takes your heart away again So sorry, but how can I defend What took a lifetime to mean nothing more than friends So say goodbye, say good bye, say That pitch black sea Waits so patiently for me You know they say that water draws you Willing me, down into the cold, cold depths Can you see the water calls me So tell me, how can I explain As the darkness takes your heart away again So sorry, but how can I defend What took a lifetime to mean nothing more than friends So tell me, how can I explain As the darkness takes your heart away again So sorry, but how can I defend What took so long to mean so little in the end So say goodbye, say good bye Say goodbye

Obliviana 05:26
Obliviana Let me lie beneath the starlight Let me see infinity Let me sink beneath the surface Set me free Let me lie in deep, dark waters Let me sail this ebon sea Let me ride the final wave Set me free Let me bathe in the morning sunlight Let me know this urgency Let me find my love one last time Set me free

about

Take a trip with Mark E Moon through the dark and twisting corridors of the human condition; a personal observation of the values of self discovery and self-reflection. Old Blood encompasses themes such as leaving religion (I, Robot), love (Human), toxic relationships (Event Horizon) and the political necessity, and the personal responsibility needed, to fight fascism (Old Blood). It is sometimes strident and bombastic, at others sombre and reflective. It's a journey, a ride that ends, as all our journeys end, eventually in the knowledge and acceptance of our frail mortality.
